A survey by the Digital Magazine Reader, released recently confirms what I have suspected for a long time. It seems many people have taken to using their iPhones to read online magazines. According to the report, 74% use their desktops, 61% use laptops and 6% of digital magazine readers use the iPhone to access digital news and reports. People have been talking about how the iPhone has changed people’s habits in terms of smartphone usage—here is further proof that people are becoming aware of the handiness of the iPhone.

Also, the iPhone’s connectivity to Wi-Fi, the imminent launch of the 3G iPhone and the You Tube icon on the iPhone screen together make it an efficient AND popular device for viewing videos. And digital magazines are aware of this already. There is now more video content in the digital magazines, driven by demand from iPhone users.
