Smartphone Sale: Blackberry in the lead for now.

The new report says iPhone sales dropped from 26.7% to 19.2% in the last quarter. Does this mean people don’t like the iPhone anymore? Not really. iPhone has been out of stock in most places, and in short supply elsewhere—after all, everyone is waiting for the launch of the long awaited 3G iPhone.

Even with the drop in sale, iPhone races to the second place. Mind you, iPhone is just a year old phone, and considering how strikingly different iPhone is from all exiting phones, it is incredible that so many people have taken to it in a short time. Blackberry retains the first position with a record sale of 44.5%.

This is a smartphone relay race, and the runners have just completed the second lap with two more laps to go for 2008. RIM has used two fast runners Blackberry Bold and Blackberry Thunder to compete with Apple’s fast runner iPhone. Now iPhone 3G is getting ready to take the third lap with a promise to win 10 Million fans by the end of 2008. The question in everyone’s mind is will iPhone 3G be able to win the race by the end of 2008 and be able to win 10 million fans? We all need to be a little patient and look down the race track and watch…
