iTunes Statistics
Here is a report that only 52% of iPhone users go to iTunes for downloading games, songs and movies. The remaining 48% users depend on other sources. This is the loss and gain story for Apple. However, looking at the download statistics at iTunes the figure is not that disheartening. With a record of more than 5 billion songs download, Apple has become the largest music retailer in the United States. Along with this, iTunes also has become the world’s most popular online movie store with the record of selling and renting 50,000 movies everyday. Whatever iTunes has on its catalogue is compatible on all Apple devices such as the iPhone, Macs, PCs iPod and the Apple TV.
Apple’s online catalogue consists of more than 8 million songs, over 20,000 TV episodes, 2,000 movies. In iTunes we can find movies from all major movie studios. The added ease for iTunes users is the chance to buy new movie releases on the same day of the DVD release. The statistics here is impressive and remarkable; I don’t mean to say that Apple has not achieved this kind of feat in the past. We all know about the success of Apple II, Macintosh, OS X, iLife. Now with the iPod, iPhone, iTunes, Apple is here to stay to rule the digital world.
