Amazon’s Kindle Vs iPhone
Amazon’s Kindle, the electronic book reader is lighter than a book. Moreover it provides for a seamless purchasing and reading experience, without eyestrain. Apart from this, it enables you to shop for Amazon books and subscribe to electronic paper right from the device. Brett Arends from The Wall Street Journal opines that Kindle enables you to save money as ebooks are cheaper than their paper counterparts.
You can access more than 130,000 books via the kindle store. Moreover, you can read the first chapter free of cost before you decide to buy the book. Top Newspapers and magazines are auto- delivered wirelessly.
Citi group analyst Mark Mahaney claims that within a span of two years, Kindle will pull in $750 million. It is based on the assumption that sales will rise from 189,000 by this year end to 2.2 million in a few years, when the gadget’s price falls below $300.
There is every possibility that all these predictions can go wrong with the iPhone 3G around the corner. The iPhone can compete in terms of screen, connectivity and a host of other applications. Through iTunes you can access audio books, short films and games. Moreover, it offers user reviews, Internet radio, album art and podcast listings for free.
- You might want an iPhone anyway, as it functions as a phone, gaming console, photo album, camera and much more. Kindle is an extra device, and more of a specialty device. People generally expect more features from a device.
- Amazon’s Kindle might just provide a better reading experience with its e-ink technology and 6 inch screen which is easier on the eyes. Nevertheless iPhone doesn’t lag behind with its 480-by-320- resolution and its 3.5 inch wide diagonal dispay.
- iPhone 3G will cost me $199 whereas Kindle is priced at $365. I certainly wouldn’t want to trade my iPhone for a Kindle.
-
iPhone is more portable and easier to carry around. It’s easier when you are on the move.
