App Store Update

App Store update, July 30, 2008.
With more applications being approved and deployed, the total number of applications has reached 1071 for iPhone and 1007 for iPod touch.
The total number of free applications is 288.

The number of new applications deployed (this include updates) on the App Store is 93 with 31 of the applications free. The breakup of the application according to their category is shown below:

The costliest application of the day is iChart EMR from Caretools Inc. The application is retailed at $139.99. This app is basically for Medical professionals and the price is not at all exorbitant if it does half of what actual EMR that cost thousands of dollars does. Do check for HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountibility Act) compliance before purchasing. For layman, stay far from this App, we will not know what to do with it.

Pick of the Day: Jeffrey Grossman’s application Currency, which is available for free is something worthwhile if you are looking for an application that coverts currency. Everyone will have something to do with this application. However, some problem is there with updating of latest information and the application also needs to include a bunch of currencies to the existing master list.
