The announced price variance of 3G iPhone around the world keeps iPhone lovers wondering for sure. This is one mystery of the iPhone which would have put off prospective buyers if not for the great features. I always thought that when the 3G iPhone comes to Australia, it would cost me only $US199 ($209.32) for the 8GB model or $US299 ($314.50) for the 16GB model. Now with the phone really coming there are many possibilities popping up.

It seems we are going to pay more than what people in America have to pay for the iPhone. If this is confirmed we will pay $370 more for the same device. Here for the 8GB model we are going to shell out $999, counting the actual price of the device and the $30 a month for 24 months contract with Telstra. There must be a valid reason for this difference and we are simply left in the dark for now. The only way out now is to wait for Optus and Vodafone to announce their offer. We all have waited for the coming of the iPhone and this price announcement for sure will not be a problem for us to wait a little longer. If Softbank can sell the device for the same price in Japan , I guess the three carriers out here need to think for us as well. July 11 is just days away, Vodafone and Optus too must be ready with their announcements. We can choose the best offer then.
