App Store hacked?
It is a mystery how censorship of applications works in Apple. We all know about the Kill Switch and the SDK agreement. When the Applications I Am Rich and Slasher were removed from the store after many complain from users, we doubted whether Apple really test applications before deploying them or they rely on the feedback and publicity from third parties?
After this, comes the rejection of Murderdrome; it was rejected on the ground of violating the SDK agreement. It never made to the App Store. Here, we start believing that Apple really check applications before deploying them. Is this a recent implementation? Many applications were removed, some for copyright infringement, some for content issue, some for security reasons and some simply vanished in a mysterious way.
Apart from the noted issues, here is yet another mystery that Apple has not specified anywhere? Is it right for a developer to ask for donations from users within an application? The SDK has no information about this. I have seen developers websites that has donation links, but seeing within an application is weird. This, in some way is bypassing the agreement between Apple and the developers. No one is against making donations of course, but asking for donation within an application looks like outsmarting Apple. Are these applications deployed without proper scrutiny? Do Apple knows this?
iProcrastinate (
) from Craig Otis is an example, the exact number of outsmarting applications is not known, but there are sure to be some more. The application is a handy one, but the logic of deploying for free and asking for donation is hard to digest. In the first place the developer should have deployed it with a fitting price tag. Are developers really losing because of shelling out 30% of revenue for maintenance of the App Store? We will know soon.

The reason i know why developers prefer to develop with those tools and deploying for free is:
Apple developer program is commercial, developer has to pay to develop and deploy for iphone.
The development platform is restricted to objective c programming language by apple sdk.
There are restriction on some api’s and access to the file system which is ignorable.
while the others open source tools allow you to develop in your preferred programming language and deploy for free.
