Apple Fire Damage
The fire that broke out at Apple Inc. headquarters on Tuesday night was successfully put out early Wednesday morning. The tragedy has caused an estimated loss of $2 Million. The flames caused extensive damage to the 40 years old building and reports suggest that the west wing of the building, the worst affected section will not be usable anymore.
Rafael Salcedo, Fire Department Spokesman said the fire was “not very big, but there is going to be a lot of smoke damage.” Main water damage was caused by two sprinklers that got activated after the fire alarm sounded. Though the main flame was put out at 12:30 am, Wednesday, some heating ventilation air conditioning unit burned for more hours.
Construction crews have confirmed that the fire broke out from a welding operation to install the air conditioning unit. The good news is that there were no injuries. Apple employees in the building were all able to get to safety in time.
