DataCase on iPhone

We’ve seen many apps making an entry into the App Store. Some useful, some entertaining and some bordering on the bizzare. But here, at last, is an app that has some actual applications or utility. Check out Videosoft’s DataCase which justifies its rather high price ($7).

Here’s a gist of what the app does:

  • Turning your device into a hand-held wireless drive. You can access your data when you are on the move and as and when you need it. At present, it supports Microsoft Office, Text, image, PDF, audio, HTML, audio and video file transfer.
  • You can transfer files to the iPhone, to one of two folders created by DataCase. Use the “drop box” to place files from the computer which need to be synced, or use the “shared files” folderto share files when you are on the wireless network.
  • You can view files which are transferred from the iPhone and delete them as well. It also features Bonjour support, Apple File protocol Transfers, HTTP and FTP connections. To enable better organization of files you can split the storage space to 16 different levels. Moreover, this app also helps you back up files transferred thought the back up function that takes place during sync.
  • Besides, Windows users can connect to the device through HTTP or FTP. However, the Mac users have an advantage as the process is automatic. The users can find the connection address at application’s main screen.

This nifty app is totally worth the money. It’s the app all of us have been waiting for and it’s absolutely easy to set up.
