Game Review: iKick

When I bought this game, I doubted the addictive part of this application as a game. The graphic looks simple with an old fashioned football, a lawn and a blue backgroud, the score record is displayed on top of the screen. However, the game turns out to be one of the most simple but addictive games on the App Store.

The game is all about tapping at the bottom of the football to keep it from falling on the lawn. The score records the number of successful taps and retains the highest score as the record point. Whenever, you switch on your iPhone or iPod touch and sees the game icon, you are always tempted to go back and break the previous record. The game can eat your brain if you are not patient and is slow at picking up the trick and momentum. Tap and shake along and don’t be impatient when you play this game.

The sound effect is another thing that makes the game real, you feel yourself on the football field with a ball all to yourself. The bouncing of the ball when you tap it onto the edge of the side screen or top gives the real feel of kicking a football on the wall at practice sessions. The game is worth every cent of the $0.99 and a version with more preference and options is something expected from this developer.

How to make it more addictive?
The score record is 300 Wow! It would be nice if there is a score table that let me know my exact position among all the users who play this game.
