iPhone better than BlackBerry Bold for web browsing

Here is a verdict that BlackBerry Bold is no match for the iPhone when it comes to web browsing. A big blow to RIM as the Bold is a redesigned version of BlackBerry to take down the iPhone. The effort of making it look smarter, sleeker, shinier and faster has not actually worked out well. Mind you, the web browsing speed of the Bold is tested against the speed of the 2G iPhone.

Here is the observation from mobile computer where the acid test happened:

Unfortunately, as excellent as it is in delivering a desktop-like web browsing experience on a small screen, the BlackBerry Bold’s web browser is just far too slow to be a serious alternative to the iPhone.”

BlackBerry Bold is the first from RIM that supports 3G, but this fails to compete even with the 2G iPhone when it comes to browsing speed.

The recorded video shows the difference of several seconds between the two phones in opening the same web page connected to the same WI-Fi network. The highest recorded time delay on the part of Bold is 28 seconds. The BlackBerry Bold has failed RIM again.

With this, we are sure to hear an outcry from BlackBerry fans for not delivering what is promised. Someone is actually writing a 20 page complaint, a lawsuit for replacement and repair.

The comparison between iPhone 3G and BlackBerry Bold 3G is also coming soon.
