iPhone to get VoIP
Instant chatting, social networking and VoIP call might could soon come in singlepackage for iPhone users. Global IP solutions has announced that its VoiceEngine Mobile SDK will enable developers to integrate real time and quality Voice on Internet Protocol applications on the iPhone.
Here is an excerpt from Emerick Woods CEO of Global IP Solutions:
The popularity of the iPhone, along with the emergence of various applications and faster connectivity, makes it an ideal platform for developing applications that incorporate quality real-time VoIP, giving consumers real-world communication experiences like in-game, multi-person chat.
The VoIP service, however, will work only in Wi-Fi hotspots. The first concern here is mobility of the service. Will calls be disconnected or switched over to the carrier’s network if a user moves out from Wi-Fi hotspot when he/she is on VoIP call? We will know this soon.
VoiceEngine Mobile will be one of the most handy applications on the App Store when it is finally released and that will compensate for all our complains for stumbling on some weird and useless applications every now and then. The date for release is not announced yet.
