Spare change? Spend it at the App Store!

Spare change lying around in your household? No idea what to do with it? Guys at iPhone Hacks have come with a neat solution. Use the change to buy apps from the App Store.

You’ve probably been using those Coinstar machines available at most retail outlets. You put in coins, and get vouchers which you can use for shopping, or you can redeem them at the cash counter. The catch there is that there is a charge of 8.9 cents per dollar for the coin counting service.

But get an iTunes Gift card instead of the vouchers, and the coin counting service is free. So save some precious pennies, get these iTunes gift cards, and spend them at the App Store.

You’ll be able to buy some cool games and apps, and won’t even feel the pinch. You only  got rid of the spare change after all. And there are plenty of apps that cost less than $2. Try Lucky 7 slots, Air Hockey or Koi Pond.

A good way to spend the inconvenient spare change, and also save on the 9% coin counting surcharge. Try it out. And do tell us how much change it was, and how you spent it at the App Store.
