Insanity is the name of the game at App Store. Sometimes. Just consider this. Here is application, which is perfectly fine in every respect except for the crucial bit, price. This app, iGold, version2.0 launched at the App Store on September 6.

This app lets you track the price of valuable metals like gold, platinum and silver from Kitco.com, Ino.com and Yahoo. The app automatically reloads the prices after a fixed interval and also lets you do that stuff manually.

There are lots of other niceties. Like you can compare these priceless metals with each other through graphs and currencies. You can also compare their prices in various countries, continents and currencies. You can also have chronological comparison for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis.

Now all that is good. But I never knew that having access to these information in itself would be priced at $7.99. Overpriced is the biggest understatemrnt here. Specially when you have already the free Bloomberg stocticker on your iPhone.
