iPhone Tethering Coming Soon

NetShare from Nulliver is one of the applications that we miss and wish it was not removed from the App Store. Not many of us were lucky enough to download and try it out though as it was on the App Store for only 20 minutes. We miss it because we all heard that it allows tethering of the iPhone. Seems Apple has long planned to provide this feature straight from its desk if we are to buy this rumor.

A very sweet rumor is going round that Apple is in talks with AT&T to bring tethering plan to iPhone 3G users. The new plan will be an additional data plan for 3G users and will allow users to share network connection of their phone with their laptops. BlackBerry users have tethering plan at an additional cost of $30 per month. So why not iPhone 3G had been the question all along. The pricing detail for iPhone 3G tethering will soon be out.

Gizmodo also has a very legitimate looking email claimed to be send by Steve Jobs as a response to a complain from a customer. The email hints at the possibility of introducing tethering plan:

We agree, and are discussing it with ATT.

Forget the authenticity of the email, it is better to believe than to be skeptical about this. However, there is no word regarding how AT&T is going to deal with this extra plan and call dropping issues.
