Multi-touch Game 2.0 for iPhone

Illusion Labs, the developers of the hugely popular apps Labyrinth and iPint now comes up with a kind of a first in the mobile gaming space. in their forthcoming “Touchgrind” app they have simulated the game of skating to the point where you do “virtually” everything with the skateboard, albeit you use your agile fingers and thus get the physics of skating without taking the stumbles that every real life skater takes.

The gaming environment includes ramps, boxes and rails and off course the snow.

The other great thing is the player freedom. Its smart physics engine allows a high degree of freedom for the player to conjure up new movement tricks. Innovative huh? But the freedom does not end here.

There is a more cerebral freedom, freedom in the Web 2.0. Apparently the Labyrinth experience has led the Illusion Lab to believe that the users are enthusiastic about being active contributors in game development. So there will be an online editor open for the community for creating and publishing their own skateparks. Not contend with that, Illusion Labs have now come up with a new lingo altogether, Game 2.0 Like the Web 2.0 the users get more and more involved in building up the game The player/user creates their own levels and affect features of the game as well as post requests for new features. discuss and vote their favorites in the website.

So in a nutshell, an ever-evolving, multi-touch game, that is layered upon the real life physics (and adventure) of skating.

Only bad news is that you need to wait till October, before Touchgrind hits the App Store.
Till the time you get your “hand” on the app, whet your appetite through the next best thing, youtube.
