My EyePhone: iPhone healthcare app

This free healthcare app includes seven eye tests for iPhone users.

This is an app that eye doctors would like to carry in their back-pocket. However, patients may also carry it along in order to do some quick eye-testing.

What does the app do? It provides quite a few standard eye-tests – both the image and text tests as well as the combined text and image tests.  You will get access to color tests as well.

The tests include:
1.    Near Visual Acuity
2.    Distance E
3.    Color
4.    Amsler Grid
5.    Powerful flashlight (clean white screen)
6.    Target for fixation t
7.    Pupil Gauge

The app is free and in a beta sort of version. With promises of many other test coming over.

Moreovere, the app comes from good authority, its software is provided by a doctor.  Dr. Renato A. Neves from the Federal University of Sao Paulo (and quite a few other impressive degrees) and currently the director of the Eye care Hospital.

And it is free.
However, there are three slightly weird things about this app:

1.    The way it is presented. If you visit the App store, you will see that half of the description that corresponds this healthcare app is about Dr. Renato!

2.    The URL to check for tutorials regarding tests and other stuffs is not the one give at App Store, but the one given in the App.

3.    Second is more weird though. Being a beta-ish version is fine, specially when the devs are planning a beta version. But why the hell it is not iPod touch compatible is beyond me.
