The best way to arrange iPhone apps
I have about fifty apps and managing them was becoming a bit of a bother. I am sure many of you have many more apps and find managing them a bit of a pain. The problem was that there was too many and finding them across a number of home screen was becoming too crowded. Specially, if you drag one app to a particular page, that pushes other apps down, often to another page.
The way out is to drag a few icons out of the dock and put them in a temporary page and then drag the new app in to that free space. Once that’s done put the app from the temporary page back to the dock.
This helps in any kind of arrangement methods-alphabetical or otherwise.
Let us know if you have found out any other ways to arrange/manage apps?

Hi yup.
That’s a neat way, specially if you have some hundred apps or so. Thanks for your suggestion.
This is a good workaround but it will be better if iPhone can provide us folders for each category. Is there an app that can do that? - Or much better a feature that can arrange the icons through iTunes.
‘Categories’ is an app that helps you make ‘folder icons’ that can contain a group of similar apps ‘inside’ them. You have to jailbreak your phone and install it via Cydia
I am scared to jailbreak my phone! But I love the categories idea. Seems like Apple should take note and deal with the monster they have created.
