Blanks is an iPhone education app to learn and enhance your English vocab. How does this app function?

Once you tap on the screen you see a definition in the middle of the screen, a hole somewhere near the top left of the screen and four options to choose from to fill in the whole as per the definition. You need to drag in the choices to fit them in the whole.

With each false choice your accuracy percentage goes down and you see the result at the top of the screen in terms of right and wrong answers as well as your accuracy percentage. For every right answer you have a green tick and for wrong, a red cross.

The list of words are taken form WordNet.

Nice app though I think we will be seeing an update and may be paid version of the App soon with some of the following features:

1.    A graph to track you overall score.
2.    Some ways to keep track of your progress.
3.    Different levels of definitions.
4.    May be a multilingual option.

The UI is especially innovative with dragging and “dropping” a word into a hole replacing the usual tapping and filling up blanks. I found it pretty addictive. However, a little bit more color would’ve made the UI even better. Right now it does look slightly flat.

Overall, the app is nice and perfect as a free version.  Nice to have it on your iPhone/iPod touch and rehearse or enhance your vocab when you feel like it.
