How to submit application screenshots to Apple? App Store trick

At the time of submitting applications to Apple, developers have the choice to submit five screenshots including the primary screenshot. You’ll see the primary screenshot on the main page of the application and the other four screenshots are shown as slide show if you click on the back/forward arrows placed below the main screenshot. If there are no additional screenshots, there will be no arrow pointers at the bottom.

Now, the funny part is that most of the applications in the App Store do not have screenshots displayed in their logical sequence. You must have submitted the screenshots giving a clear tag something like screenshot 1, 2, 3, depending on the sequence/flow of the game or application, but Apple overwrites your tag. Why? Simple: Apple does not have the time to read the names. A developer with xCube Labs, whose games Fire Drop and Fire Drop Deluxe we reviewed a few weeks ago, reveals to us the workaround on how to make screenshots appear in their right sequence as slide show in the App Store.

Here is the trick:

  1. Keep your primary screenshot aside (this is the first image to be displayed, no change needed here)
  2. Take the other four screenshots; you need to do a quick resizing work
  3. Note the size of all the screenshots
  4. Re-size the images in ascending order depending on the desired sequence of the slide show.  (something like 180kb>182kb>184kb>185kb) In the example here, the image of 180kb will be displayed after the primary screenshot. The sequence is from the smallest to the largest.

If the purchase of applications also depends on the appeal and attractiveness of the slide show, this random display will make users run away. Use this trick to attract more users.

Hmm… all I had to do was add the shots in reverse order, and it worked fine.

Adding the files in reverse order worked for me, too.
