iPhone Tips and Troubleshooting: Using the Keyboard more Efficiently
The iPhone has a two screens layout for the QWERTY keyboard and for the for the numbers/symbols display. That makes it a little annoying sometimes. Especially if you are trying to type in a sentence like. "Apple Store, California. USA!" which uses quite a few punctuation marks.

Switching between two keyboards is not a great idea. However, there is a simple way to avoid that.
While using the default keyboard and you arrive at a juncture where you need to use punctuation, i.e. the other keyboard. Just tap the "?123" button and don’t release it after you have reached the other screen. Then drag your finger across to the punctuation mark you want to in the next screen. Once that is done, release both the buttons you will automatically return to the default screen.
It works really fine once your fingers are adjusted to the right slide and movement. It works for all the punctuation marks, though I am not really sure whether it works for numbers as well. For me it certainly didn’t.
