AT&T and Apple’s iPhone tethering plan: Is it real?
You like it or not, we are telling you iPhone tethering is coming soon. That is the only possible reason, why Apple removed NetShare.
The complaints of dropped calls have come down considerably after Apple’s efficient software updates and patch upgrades from AT&T. While the nightmare of losing connection is still fresh in our minds, it is hard to predict whether tethering is at all a good idea. No doubt, AT&T will be pocketing a huge profit out of the tethering business. Though the data plan for tethering is not known yet, it is very likely that the feature will come for nothing less than $20 a month.
The main concern however, will be the quality of service as usual. Think of laptops taking a ride on the already high density AT&T coverage areas, will that be too much for AT&T? We will know soon. There is no official announcement either from Apple or AT&T about the coming of iPhone tethering feature, though. Announcement to this effect is expected anytime. Steve Jobs is rumored to have blurted out, Apple is discussing with AT&T regarding tethering the iPhone.
Are you in for this unannounced plan?
