3. Safari performance becomes more stable.

4. Call drop and call set up issues fixed.

5. Direct download of podcasts via Wi-Fi or cellular network (iTunes app on the iPhone supports this).

6. Sound quality improved for visual voicemail messages.

7. Pressing home screen from any of the home screen page takes you to the first page of the home screen.

  1. Auto correction can now be turned off and on.

Well, that’s a lot. Apart from iPhone 2.2 update, Apple earlier also has released iTunes 8.0.2 update.

Known issue with 2.2:

Some users are reporting sound issues after upgrading to firmware 2.2. Sound abruptly stops once the device enters sleep mode. Apple is looking into the problem. The solution for now is to undo the AutoLock option. Go to Settings> General>Auto Lock and set it as Never. This means more battery draining, but the issue with sound can be fixed this way, if you are having sound issues.
