20 Hanoi: Hanoi comes from the developer of Scoops and Threads. It is an exciting logic and puzzle game where you have to move stone discs from the left tower to the right corner to form the same tower on the left. The rule of the game is simple, while shuffling the stones you can only stack smaller stones on top of the larger ones. The number of stone discs increases according to the levels, the challenge also increases.

The background scenery adds appealing touch to this puzzle game. The developer also has deployed a paid version of this game. On the negative side, after the paid version was deployed the number of levels went down for this free version. However, the game still has its greatness.

19 Astro Tilt by Jirbo: This is one of the 26 apps Jirbo guys have deployed in the span of 5 months. Though all the applications from Jirbo have a very identifiable graphical trademark, they have played the App Store game very well. You can either choose the touch control or tilt control for moving the pad to keep the ball going.

Astro Tilt has 99 levels that can keep you glued to the game for hours. You can also view the score board which has the list of all the top scorers around the world. Of course you can also upload your score if you think you are one of the best players of Astro Tilt. You can also select the type of blocks you like for the game.

The audio content of the game really make players rush. As expected, the game has a limited number of levels, however, it kind of prepares you for the full version.  Puzzle loop is a real Hit, Connect and Booom game.

The game is more of a puzzle and guessing game, however, having a good command of English vocabulary carries you deeper into the fun of the game.

All you have to do is open the game and select the letters from the English alphabet slot to fill the blanks and make a word. A wrong guess results in building parts of the stickman figure. When the figure is complete, you are hanged proving that you are sort of weak in guessing and poor in vocabs.

15 Cube Runner: Take a long joyride with Cube Runner. The distance you cover depends on how well you can tilt and navigate among neatly arranged cubes. Crashing of the ship against the cubes eliminates you. The graphics look simple, sort of un-appealing, but the use of accelerometer is awesome.

If you play Cube Runner, you can play your own music after turning off the sounds option within the game interface. You also have the option to design your own tracks and share it with your friends.

14 reMovem: reMovem Lite is a game that can keep you company if you have a few minutes to spare. As this is the free version you have only one level, which gets boring after a point of time. However, on the positive side, the game has something that makes you want to go back and beat your previous score.

You have these color balls which you have to select and destroy in groups of three or more. The trick of the game is to find ways to destroy as many balls at one go. Bonus points are awarded if you tap to destroy multiple balls with a single tap. Thus, the game is more of a puzzle than a test of your tapping speed. You have the option to send your high score for getting listed in the world top 10 rank. This adds the challenge feature to the game.

You will navigate through tunnels, dark alleys and laser gateways destroying enemy trenches and strategic posts and of course the laser gateways. If you play this game for the first time, you’ll find the control is buggy and aiming is difficult, however, with more practice you can master the secret.
Though flawed in some ways, this game has room for development to bring real star war kind of feel to iPhone users.

There are other subway cars as well, blue, green and red.

Here is the puzzle; the blue car can move only on the blue line, the green colored car can move only in the green line. The other cars block your path and you have to shuffle the cars and navigate your car to the destination. The subway maps become a little more complex as you progress to the higher levels. Try it if you are good at cracking puzzles.

10 iBowl: You want to learn about the bits and pieces of bowling? You have the opportunity to start with this free bowling game. If you are planning to learn the, exact posture, pressure and release for bowling, you’ll be disappointed though. With iBowl you can know the little rules, such as the point system involved in knocking down the pins assembled at the other end.

Open the application and move the ball to the position from where you want to bowl, hold down the bowl button and release to bowl. While bowling, you can spin or roll it straight depending on the way you flip your device. iBowl is innovative and addictive. The highest score I managed with iBowl is 189. Beat me.

9 Rescue Angels 12: A new game from xCube Labs based on a new concept of angels and the devil. Rescue Angels is a clever experiment with the old bow and arrow shooting sport. Angels are trapped insides bubbles owned by a devil. You need to rescue the angels from captivity.

You have to release the a minimum number of angels to complete the mission, which is not possible if you do not determine the correct angle of your bow, the exact power level of the arrow and other hidden tricks to achieve the goal. The game is tricky and is a puzzle partly.

Rescue Angels is the free version of the larger Rescue Angels Packs that the developer has in the App Store.

8 GalaxyImpact: The rich tradition of brick breaking still lives. GalaxyImpact is a classic brick game for the iPhone and iPod touch. The graphics and audio content of the game adds flavor and appeal to the game.

You have a bouncer pad and a ball with which you have to break the bricks placed above without letting the ball to fall.

The game is easy to master, but hard to quit as there is an option to save your score in the top score list to show to your friends. You can move the bouncer pad up or down or sideways with your finger.

7 Touch Hockey: Touch Hockey is a game that you can either play alone or with your friend on Wi-Fi or on the same device for the simple fun the game provides. The mallet is controlled with your finger and you have to score as many goals as you can against your opponent.

Accidentally striking the puck into your own goal when your score is low is a little annoying. However, with more practice you can master the moves and strikes and beat your opponent with a staggering score. The control is very responsive and easy to handle. The developer also has other interesting games like Touch4 FS5 and Tic Tac Touch FS5.

6 Pacman Lite: You remember the classic arcade and maze game Pac Man? It has come to the iPhone and Pac Man Lite is the bait to make you purchase the full version. The lite version has only three modes, Easy, normal and original with only one level each, which is sort of disappointing. However, the game gives a hang of the engaging nature of this old game.

You can either use the accelerometer mode, swipe mode or the touch button control for navigating. You need to guide Pac Man to gobble up dots and fruits. Eating the blinking power pellets immobilize the dangerous ghosts eating them up earns you extra points. The ghost, Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde are out there to kill pac man.

5 Cannon Challenge: A classic bombing game, the lone game of its kind in the App Store. You are commanding a tank to destroy strategic positions of your enemies. Ammunition is limited each shot matters a lot in winning.

What you need to determine is the velocity and the elevation to shoot. The graphic and the audio effect give artillery touch to the game. You can adjust the elevation and velocity by swiping up sideways of your device. As you go up the levels, the number of targets increases and for some target, you need to determine the precise time to shoot. The one thing that users missed in this game is enemy firing back. Nevertheless, Cannon Challenge is an engaging game that can keep you engaged for countless minutes.

4 Turkey Hunt: A game with a Thanksgiving theme, you go hunting without guns as you are playing on your iPhone. Turkeys pop out on your screen; you take the turkeys down by tapping on them. Sounds easy? However, the challenge is tough as the level increases and the fowls flutter around faster.

Tapping fast isn’t the real trick to master the game, there is some mysterious in this hunting game. Beat the time and earn extra points, compare your score with other Turkey Hunt players around the world. The hunting grounds for the game are really awesome. This is one of the cool games from Jirbo, though the tapping concept isn’t.

3 Aurora Feint the Beginning: Aurora Feint the Beginning is one of the earliest games in the App Store. The game was once pulled out of App Store as it used to collect user information and that caused an uproar once, nevertheless it came back to reign.

Aurora feint is an exciting puzzle game where you have to arrange three or more identical crystals horizontally or vertically and destroy them to earn points. You are transported to a magical world with Aurora Feint. You can turn your device sideways, up and down to arrange the metal blocks and shuffle to align and destroy them. This makes the game flexible. As you advance, you come learn the hidden tricks slowly and become a master of the game without actually getting bored. The developer also has deployed a more engaging paid version of the game.

2 Trace: Trace is a game designed to appeal people of all ages. The graphics look simple; the puzzle too is simple yet very engaging. You have many levels in 6 categories that can keep you glued to your device for as long as you wish.

The Game play is simple, draw tracks and take the red baton from its starting point to the destination. Avoid the obstructions by using the left, right and up buttons. Reaching the destination ends the level and you are ready for a more daring challenge. Even the music is cool that really goes well with the game.

1 Cube: Ever heard of Project IGI games for PCs? Cube somehow reminds me of that shooting game. You may not find this as good as those high end games, but at least we have something in Cube for the iPhone that will give you some consolation.

Cube is an FPS (First Person Shooter) game. The touchscreen technology is used perfectly for the game. You tap the right bottom of the screen to move forward, tap the left bottom to shoot and swipe up the screen to load the gun. One common complaint about the game is the difficulty to take aim. However, you can master the aim with practice. Tilting and rotating the device controls the direction.

Well, that is the list; you are always welcome to contradict me.
