Make music videos out of your iPhone photo library through Animoto Videos

The Animoto iPhone app now allows users to create their Animoto videos from their iPhone without ever touching their computer. It’s like having a highly-paid professional video editor in your pocket.

Animoto Videos is the quick and simple way to create short videos using your iPhone’s photo library and then share them. You can use from 8-16 images and pick a song from Animoto’s music collection. Then the Cinematic Artificial Intelligence technology of Animoto takes over, rendering your photos and images a professional, post-production look and feel according to the theme you choose.

The pluses:

1.    The technology takes into account every nuance of a song: the genre, song structure, energy, rhythm, instrumentation, and vocals.
2.    Users can then remix their video into a wholly new piece or add it to their collection and start another one.
3.    Once created, videos can be shared and watched both on the iPhone and regular web browsers.
4.    Sending feedback directly from the iPhone.
5.    18 musical/audio themes.

The cons:

1. It takes, or at least on my device, took quite some time to create a new music video from my images.

Rating for the concept: 4

Interface: In bold black and white shaded the app does look good. Moreover, the UI is very user-friendly with the options to easily navigate, create and share on the go.

Rating for the Interface: 3.5

What else could have been done:

1.    The option to link up to animoto.com is there. However, as many users have said, an option to put these little i-creations onto youtube would have just added to the apps already high potential and capacity.
2.    Ability to select music from the iPhone’s own library.
3.    Option to add more images.

However, even these aside, the app is really cool. No wonder that currently it is enjoying a 4 star rating at the App Store. Go for it. I am sure they are going to make this a pricey app with the next update!
