The introduction of the 32GB iPhone or the iPhone nano during the Macworld Expo 2009 is almost certain with AT&T selling refurbished 8GB iPhone 3G for $99 and Walmart selling the iPhone 3G at $2 less than the usual price. Apple is planning to dump the 8GB version (likely).
For those of you who are looking for a good deal on the iPhone, AT&T is selling their refurbished 8GB iPhone for just $99 and 16GB for $199. The offer ends when the available stock is sold out or 31st December, whichever happen earlier. All the refurbished iPhones come pre-loaded with the latest softwares and are quality tested. These make the devices as good as the brand new ones except that some of the devices may have minor scratches.
If you are looking for a brand new iPhone, walk into the nearest Walmart Stores and get the iPhone 8GB for $197 and iPhone 16GB for $297.
A better deal comes from Best Buy. Best Buy is offering $10 discount on both iPhone 8GB and the 16GB. Apart from the promised discount, iPhone buyers are assured surprised double reward zone points.
All the deals of course come with a two year contract term with AT&T and all the offer and discounts end with 2008. These offers could be the best you will ever get out of 2008. Apple is all set to move on to the New Year with a new iPhone model, the iPhone 32GB is on the way.

Am I the only who thinks that the iPhone will lose its “hipster” appeal the second it shows up in a Walmart. To add insult to injury, Walmart can’t even offer it for a steep discount; it’s only like two bucks off. This seems like a lose lose situation for both companies — iPhone degrades its own brand image by selling in Walmart, and Walmart can’t even wield its power to buckle the phone into a lower price.
