Archibald’s Adventure: A classic action puzzle game for iPhone/iPod touch users

How do you figure your way out of professor Klumpfus’s mansion and the many mazes there including acid pools and other surprises?

Welcome to the multilayered world of Archibald’s Adventure. This game consists of various spaces, themes and spaces.

Archibald’s Adventure takes you to an array of multilayered spaces that can range from anything like everyday mundane objects to acid pools among others. As Pavel Tovarys member of the Rake In Grass team tell us:

Archibald is an action puzzle game with a lot of features - you start as a boy on skateboard, but soon you will roll in robotic vehicle capable of riding on walls and ceilings, fly on jet device or remotely control mysterious floating bubble able to switch distant mechanism or transport
objects.

Gameplay:

1. There are 8 worlds in the game – Brainiac’s mansion, More of Hints, Loaded Runner, Night with the tentacles, Better fly like condor, Fall In, Ascent and The Great Exit.

2. For proceeding to each world, you have to clear a certain number of levels in the earlier levels. There are 16 levels in each world/space.

archibalds-adventuresControls: The controls of this game is excellent. They are super responsive, intuitive at the right places (just the kind you would need to play a game of this caliber on the screen space of iPhone/iPod touch) and there is the option to drag the whole control console around the screen.

As it is, the number of levels mean that the number of puzzles become increasingly difficult. The initial levels are simple mazes. However, from “Loaded” Runner the game starts to really interest you and by the time you reach “Better Fly Like Condor” it starts to become intriguing. Right now, I am pretty much hopelessly stuck at level 4 of Condor! Any help guys?

Rating for the concept: 4

Graphics: The graphics create the worlds/spaces. So they got to be top. And they are. These graphics have a slight, comic book feel, that might remind you some of Tin Tin’s adventures. The spaces are created with minute attention to details and with a minimalist approach designed to give you uncluttered experience in terms of an action and puzzle game.

Rtaing for the interface: 4

A colorful, brilliant game, with a rich tapestry of levels and spaces to challenge you and keep you hooked for hours. Not for nothing the game won the 4th place in Gametunnel’s “Puzzle Game of the Year 2008″.

Still, the game is priced at 8 dollars and you might want to play before buy. We provide you the second best option. Watch a demo video here:

This one has got what it takes to make a classic action puzzle game. I am personally waiting for more Rake In Grass games.

Update: The developer of the game, PavelTovarys has informed us that due to a lot of requests they have published a lite version of the game - Archibald’s Adventures Lite with 32 levels.
