The application turns your iPhone into a megaphone, which you can use on different occasions and for different purposes. You’ll never need a microphone again. Read on.

Requirements

To turn your iPhone into a megaphone, all you need is either an FM transmitter or a 3.5MM cable to connect your iPhone to a sound system (amplified speakers). Once the device is connected it is turned into a microphone. The FM transmitter turns your iPhone into a wireless microphone.

When to use?

You can use this whenever there is a need for a microphone. It isn’t a bad idea to surprise your friends at parties; flip out your iPhone and make a speech and look at their surprised faces. Megaphone on the iPhone can also be used in small group gathering where you need to speak to the whole group.

To make sure that you are not interrupted while making a speech to your friends, you need to keep your iPhone in airplane mode.

The value

Megaphone is a bright idea and it worked fine when I tested. It would be handy on occasions when microphones around you don’t work well apart from showing off to your friends about the various things your iPhone can do. We might soon see people using the iPhone in school auditoriums, classrooms, churches, bars, institutions as a microphone and as PA system.

The negative side of the utility value is that you have to disable your phone every time you want to make a speech. It’s up to you to choose between a phone and a microphone. Moreover, make sure that you carry around the extra cable to turn your iPhone into a microphone.
