With just three basic sliders- red, green and blue, the Eye vs Eye app tests your eye for the color for 16.7 million colors. I am not sure whether I know the name of all these colors even after working with photoshop for years. Yes, magenta, cyan and the standard ones are there. However, there are millions of other shades and varieties that I simply don’t know!

This app tests your eye for the color and the accuracy in a really nifty way. And tests whether you really have the eye for color. I got stuck around 96% quite a number of times!

The apps utility value is enormous as you can really understand which combination works in which way. In short, it gives a real photoshop color-balancing experience.

The nifty features:

1. Offers an intense color-matching duel that pits you against an opponent in a race of color accuracy and chromatic perfection.

2. Double player simultaneous contest mode.

3. Solo player mode.

4. Ability to use the iPhone’s music library.

For the moment though I am hopelessly hooked to the intricacies of color matching and testing whether my brain cells are really capable of remembering colors and creating them from the red-green-blue sliders, especially with the timed mode! Is short, an intense and beautiful color-matching game to keep myself engaged under any circumstances, anywhere – be it while waiting for the shuttle service, or relaxing during short breaks.

Note: Currently it’s a RGB mega-bash. However, the developers tell us that in version 1.1 they will be including choice of color sliders (HSB/CMYK/ CRAYONS) as well as score tracking. The developers have also told us that they are cooking up other minimalist designing treats for the iPhone which should be available at the App Store soon, possibly sometimes this month.
