Tell us a little about you and your current company.

Starbyt was founded in December 2008 by Alex Fishman and Tamir koschuch. Alex is responsible for software development, and has many years of engineering and design experience.  He is an expert in computer graphics, OpenGL, DirectX and many other areas. Tamir is a talented designer, with over 10 years of experience in animation, held a position as chief animator at an advertising studio.

At Starbyt we are committed to making high quality and fun games for iPhone & iPod Touch devices. We started with casual games. But our future plans are to develop high quality and original games along with other casual releases.

About your work:

What apps have you developed so far? Tell us about your apps in brief.

So far Starbyt has released two games.  Cubee and LinesUp.
Cubee is a classic and fun 3D puzzle, inspired by the well known amazing cube game. The game includes cool graphics and intuitive controls as well as many other features.

Lines Up is a remake of popular PC game Lines. The goal of the game is to keep the board clean from tokens by forming vertical, horizontal or diagonal lines of at least five tokens of the same color. It features top notch graphics, enjoyable animations, and intuitive interface and is very addictive.

Any exciting stuff you are working on? Give our readers a hint of what to expect from you next.

Today, we are working on a new exciting casual game, koala sports , we can’t reveal it right now but, be patient… it will come soon.

Do you develop for other platforms? How do you compare the iPhone development platform with other platforms?

Apple’s iPhone platform represents a very interesting opportunity to small and medium-sized developers. Growing on the original iPod success, the touch platform has reached a very large market share around the globe and continues to grow.

Apple introduced the App Store:  a single point entry for commercial iPhone applications which perfectly suits user needs as well as developers.

About the App Store:

Name two iPhone apps you consider are cool, excluding the apps you’ve developed. What makes these apps stand out?

Two favorite games are:

Trism, by Demiforce. It is a simple yet sophisticated game. I am enthralled by Texas Hold’em. My passion for developing iPhone game came from that game; I think this game is a great example for the ability of the iPhone & iPod Touch platforms.

Any message to your fellow developers?

We would like to invite you all to try LinesUp, a great designed and fun game and hope to reveal our new game soon…..

Thanks Tom for your time
