One idea that never occurred to me with the iPhone screen is that it can be scratched to extract sound! Now that’s exactly what has been done with the Nail Scratch app. No it has got nothing to with your nails. As we have reported earlier, it’s better if you don’t actually have long nails.

So what this app actually does? Well, it simulates that creepy, screechy feeling, chilling sound of sliding nails over a blackboard.  I admit that I was not really fond of that screeching sound. However, the whole concept seemed a pretty interesting exercise in simulation.

So I did download this app to my iPhone and the whole experience was, well, a bit creepy.

The way it works is simple.  It supports the 5 finger simultaneous touch. So you just swipe your fingers over the iPhone screen, along whatever track you wish, and let the iPhone emit a scratching sounds that have been synchronized according to the finger movement.
To clear the screen again and start again, just double tap and restart the whole creepy process again.

And sure enough it can jolt you out of a petty stupor!
