Rejection of iPhone application continues: Apple rejects iPhone game Obama Tramboline

When iPhone applications are submitted to Apple, we all know that they go through a process of validation. However, we are not aware of the various aspects Apple take into account for accepting or rejecting of applications. Some apps were rejected on the ground of being obscene, some for being offensive, some for lack of utility value and so on. There has been instances where applications were rejected for ridiculing public figures. Obama Trampoline is one such application being rejected on the ground of making fun of political leaders.

obama-trampolineObama Trampoline from Swamiware is an iPhone game that features cartoon caricatures of famous Democrat and Republican leaders. As a player, you have to make these leaders jump and pop balloons hanging on the ceiling. Sad enough for the developer, the game has been rejected by Apple and it won’t be in the App Store for us to download. The developer has termed the rejections as “bizarre.”

On the same line, the original Smack Boxing was rejected for featuring world famous leaders who are not well liked as your opponents in the smacking fun. Smack Boxing originally had Fidel Castro, Kim Yong-il and George Bush as opponents of the player. The game was rejected and the developer has to change the characters and resubmit the game. The game was then accepted.

Obama Trampoline features, Obama, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George Bush, Sarah Palin and other well known politicians. Though the real reason of the rejection is not known, it is speculated that the game is being rejected for making fun of public leaders. Well, the game does not make fun of politics or policies; it’s just a game where the characters are handpicked famous leaders who are known to most people around the world. The developer could as well think of changing the characters, so as to bring this fun game to the App Store.
