DUB: Share contact information and business cards with BlackBerry, WindowsMobile, Android and other text-based cell-phones from your iPhone
While the iPhone continues to be the uber-cool device, it is the App Store that is continuing to make it a real potent weapon.
For instance, one of the missing links in the iPhone is its lack of messaging facilities. Now that gap has been fulfilled.
DubMeNow has released a new application called DUB in the “Business” category. This app makes iPhone to iPhone connectivity quite seamless. Not just that, this service extends to other devices as well. With DUB, you can:
1. Cross Device Connectivity: Exchange contact info with iPhone, BlackBerry, WindowsMobile, Google Android and all text-enabled cell phones.
2. Instantly sync contact to address book.
3. Updates to these information are done automatically whenever any of these contacts change any of their contact information. That in turn saves a lot of time since it eliminates the need for swapping, saving and the irritating process of editing/updating any of these dats. Now that’s some streamlining I would say.
4. Contacts can be invited through social networking sites like Linkedin. You just need to “tag” or note the required information about the contact.
UI: The UI makes this whole process quite a smooth ride. You just need to log in and send a DUB invite to the person you want. Once the intended recipient accepts this invite his/her contact is loaded to your address book and vice-versa.
Further, as the developers tell us, their network is quite something to boast of:
We’ve partnered with LinkedIn, Google, Microsoft, BlackBerry and Salesforce.com on the technology.
All that and cross-device connectivity. Could you possibly ask for more? Seems that you could. DUB is a free app right now! Have this app on your iPhone and see the difference by comparing the “DUB”ed contacts along with the un-“DUB”-ed ones and check the difference.
