Using Google Docs on the iPhone

We use to have only viewing option of Google Docs on mobile devices, thanks to Google for enabling, adding, editing and sorting options recently. We can now always be with the documents that are so important in our lives even when we are far from the PC. This is a simple guide to let you start using Google Doc on your iPhone.

google-docs-on-iphoneFire up Safari and go to Google Homepage, tap on the More option or you can just enter m.Google.com. Select Docs, you’ll see all your spreadsheets and documents loading up. It’s somewhat amazing!

Well, now tap on any of the docs to go to the particular page, there you are. You can edit every field and entries. To add new a page, tap on the Add button on the left top of the page. Though the taps and buttons are tiny, you cannot be mistaken, everything looks neat on the iPhone.

You can view the pages either in portrait or landscape mode, that’s what makes the iPhone special right?

You want to add Google docs to your home screen? Tap on the back button and go to the Docs home page and tap on the Add symbol at the bottom of the page. Tap on the Add to Home Screen option, Google Docs application icon would appear on your screen. For future use, you just need to tap on this icon to access all your Google documents.

Google docs is accessible from most Android-powered devices such as the G1, Apple’s iPhone and the iPod touch and the Nokia S60 and supports 38 languages.

But you can’t edit text docs. What’s the point?

Exactly. If you are looking for a way to edit docs… this is not possible at the moment! Anyway, it is ok to browse and read g docs.
