Apple rumors week: Netbook, iPhone SDK, iPhone nano and iPhone upgrade

These few days have been a bit hectic for me reading Apple rumors on blogs and sites that cover everything Apple. This week, Apple released iTunes 8.1, made change to the review display in the App Store and send out invites to the media for the upcoming Apple Media Event on March 17, 2009. All these announcement and upgrades practically forced us to spread rumors like wild fire. Apple never talked, but I am sure the company is happy about the attention it is getting.

iphone-nanoThe media special event would show case the content and features of iPhone OS 3.0. The invitation furnish no other information other than the upcoming software release. However, we all started  playing  the usual prediction and assumption game. Some of our common assumptions are:

1. If there is a software upgrade, a new iPhone is also on the way. The iPhone 3G was launched after the release of iPhone OS 2.0 in the first half of 2008.

2. iPhone nano could also be launched along with the new iPhone. We even have a very believable image of the iPhone nano now.

3. iPhone SDK would be upgraded to incorporate the changes that are likely to come with the new iPhones.

Now, where did that rumor about Apple netbook came from? Touchscreen supplier Wintek told a Chinese newspaper that the company is working with Apple. Though, Wintek does not know what the product was, the information was good enough for all of us to assume that, it’s definitely Apple netbook. Most of us assume that the netbook is a touchscreen gizmo. Nevertheless, we all have to wait for Apple events throughout the year to see what really would come from the company.
