iPhone word game to test your vocabulary, speed and accuracy: Lexel from jbrink

I’ve finally got a word game that can probably make me burn my fingers and drain my brain. Lexel from jbrink.net is a well made game, probably you too won’t know when to keep your iPhone down. We are all in getting hooked!

lexel-from-jbrinkjbrink is the maker of innovative applications such as PDF Annotater, DVDmote, etc for the iPhone and iPod touch. Lexel too has that touch of uniqueness as a game.

The game

If you know Tetris or Tatomic iPhone games, you’d understand what Lexel exactly is. You do know!

Lexel is a board game where you gotta play with letters and words. You have to make words out of the letters that are there on the board. You only need to drag and drop the letter tiles to form words as fast as you can to avoid the board from getting filled up. New letters are added to the board constantly depending on the game mode you selected.

Still confused? Once you have formed a word, tap on the beginning letter of the word and then tap on the last letter to make the word vanish from the board. To play on and to score more, you have to be fast in arranging the letters so that your speed equals the speed at which the letters are added. The game is almost done, once the board is filled.

Gameplay

There are four board sizes (5×5 up to 9×9) with three game modes, slow, medium and fast. The game modes are the speed at which letters are added to the game board. The minimum number of letters in a word is three. The words can be formed horizontally, vertically, from left or right and from bottom or from down. High scores for the game are saved locally and also on the developer’s site for global high

Graphics and sounds

The clean interface, professional graphics, special and attractive sound effects add more value to this neatly developed game. You won’t feel bad at all spending $1.99 for Lexel.
