So, you are one of those people not happy about the application you just bought? Well, Apple do have a policy that allows you to claim refund of the amount you’ve spent. However, it’s gonna take you ages (possibly) to get back the few dollars, the process is painfully long.
Apple gives 90 days for customers to claim refund of any purchase they made in iTunes or App Store. There has been a great hue and cry about this though. Forget it, if you are not satisfied with any applications, follow the steps and try getting back your money.
1. Go Apple iTunes support
2. Enter your first name and last name and other details in the fields provided
3. From the category, choose Purchase(s)
4. In the sub category, just select one of the reasons why you are claiming refund
5. Select the item/app in your purchase history
6. Enter the item title in field provided
7. Enter the order number
8. Type your message and hit the Send button
Done. Wait for the response. Apple gives full refund to customers but steals the 30% commission for hosting the application from developers.
Don’t let app developers know that I posted this instruction.

FANTASTIC!
And if they refuse…? We all know how to contact them, but what if they unfairly say no? The ‘Sales Are Final’ clause of the legal agreement means you have no legal standing or shot against iTunes apart from the loss of your custom and the problems you can cause them by discouraging others from making purchases from them.
Actually it was an app developer who pointed me to this website to learn how to get a refund for their product. They can’t refund me directly since Apple handles the purchases but they are going to credit me the 30% on my next purchase from them. Which will be today if I get this completed.
I don’t think they see it as unwelcome information if they were willing to give me the link to this page.
I have tried to follow these steps (above) in order to claim App store refund but when I logged into Apple itune support I could see any field where I can fill in my first and last name and other details , there was only a category with different issues . Can any one guide me please ?
Thanks a lot
Christina, I was directed to this site as well and tried to follow the instructions with no success. After some more digging, I found iTunes must have changed their policy after this article was written. They now say there are no refunds at all: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3641
