Apple replacing water damaged iPhones for $199

some-bad-things-about-the-iphoneApple is in a good mood possibly because of the upcoming launch of a new iPhone hardware. The company is willing to replace water damaged iPhones under a new policy. Not sure, whether they’ll replace water damaged plus broken screen iPhone I have at home though.

The new policy is a blessing for people who have out of warranty water damaged iPhones lying at home. I see this move as a desperate step to run dry the existing iPhone inventory in view of the expected launch of the new iPhone.

Walk in to the nearest Apple Store and pay $199, give away your damaged iPhone and bring home a refurbished iPhone 3G. The price is the same for both the 16GB and the 8GB phones. If you have the first generation 4GB iPhone, I bet you would be given the 8GB iPhone 3G. It’s that simple.

Got words that the new policy is exclusively for US. The bad side of this deal is that you have to walk two more painful years wearing that AT &T wireless contract for the refurbished iPhone. Does this sound more like a snare now?

its sounds interesting but AT&T…. you should think first. Who’ll want the iPhone 3G? Better wait for the new iPhone

Good policy for those who are loyal AT&T customers. For them i guess it’s totally worth it to stay with AT&Tfor 2 more years in return for a refurbished iPhone
