Apple’s iPod snow test

snowed-ipodLong time back I spoiled my first generation iPhone when I dropped it into a stream; the screen broke and water got into the device. I shook that Apple baby like crazy, but it won’t simply start up and there was no more warranty on the device. It became a personal museum piece. Apple devices are not water proof, however it seems they are snow resistant according to one exciting write up I read here the other day.

Andrew Robulack wrote that he found an iPod buried in snow near Takhini School few days back. The device probably had been lying there since early winter and remained there frozen throughout winter. You would not expect the device to be still alive and breathing right? Well, the founder of the iPod says it’s still working.

Except for few scratches the device is said to be in good shape and the founder has given a generous one week time for the owner to claim the device. If you ever lost an iPod near Takhini school you can mail him the storage capacity of your iPod, your name and claim your snow resistant iPod.

Here I am just glad to know that Apple devices are snow resistant though they are not waterproofed. I am impressed.
