BlackBerry Curve overtakes iPhone sales
How many of you would buy an iPhone if Apple or AT&T were to announce “Buy one get one FREE” offer. Yes, I see millions of raised hands out there. This is what exactly Verizon did with the BlackBerry phones when the handsets were not selling good. I say it’s a good business strategy to force people spend when there is credit crunch. Apple might never do this though.
The aggressive buy one get one free offer on BlackBerries has turn out good for both RIM and Verizon. BlackBerry Curve has become the best selling smartphone in the US leaving the iPhone behind. The ranking of smartphone in the first quarter of 2009 has Curve in the lead followed by the iPhone and the third and the fourth position have BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Pearl respectively.
Apple shipped 3.79 million iPhones in the first quarter. RIM on the other hand shipped a record of 7.8 million BlackBerries, half of course were given away free, you know that.
iPhone sales is expected to further plunge as most buyers are now waiting for the launch of the new iPhone during WWDC 2009. The stage for now is all for RIM and Verizon Wireless.

I bought two storms. It’s as good as the iPhone may be better also
I do not like the looks of Blackberry. Too wide except for some models. major reason why i have never taken to Blackberry. Doesn’t have all those fun apps. either. I will stick to iPhone
i want a touch screen not a closely packed keyboard. but buy one get one may decrease the apple sale, apple must take some clever steps to hit blackberry out of the market.
iphone is best , don’t bother about blackberry .
it’s wastage of money.
i’m addictive to iphone ,nothing else
