This is a post meant as a obituary to the iPhone. I have been writing about the iPhone for more than a year now and am pretty disappointed because the launch of the iPhone is going to be delayed. 

Sprint and Palm are taking this possible delay as a blessing. Sprint has announced the launch date of the long awaited Palm Pre, the iPhone killer. June 6 is the launch date according to the Official press release of the company. There is no more mistake here.

The new Palm webOS powered device would be available in Sprint Stores, Radio Shacks, Best Buy and select Wal-Mart Stores at $199.99 with a two year service agreement. 

One of the main features of Pre that would make you drop your jaw is of course the ability to run multiple applications at a time. Users would be able to move back and forth between various apps keeping them all open. We will know soon how capable is the battery on the Pre though. 

The delay of iPhone launch could be a golden chance for Sprint and Palm. If it were not for the bad finacial situation, I’d say there would be serpentine queue outside Pre outlets on June 6.
