How to download/upgrade to iPhone OS 3.0

Follow the steps to download and upgrade your iPhone/iPod touch to iPhone OS 3.0

1. Connect your device to iTunes
2. Once the device is detected, hit the Check for Update Button.

A pop up would appear prompting that there is a software update. Click on the Download or Download and Install button.

If you have chosen the Download and Install option, the software would be installed once the download is complete. However, if you have chosen the only Download option, you need to go back later and hit the Update button in iTunes to install the new software on your device.

The whole process would take you about fifteen minutes provided your Internet speed good. Let us know if you run into any problem while downloading or upgrading to iPhone OS 3.0.

Heck! The device screen in iTunes went blank after the upgrade. Is the same thing happening to anyone of you? This is weird.

Whatta… All my unsubscribed old podcasts got installed. IT is strange. I remember deleting them even from my computer. Is this what Apple is doing?

they need an external download link for this, doing it through itunes is just plain stupid. it will not finish, and im sure its just itunes. if they had an external download link it would be flawless.

I downloaded the software, re-installing applications and games is taking something like a century. Reminds me of 2.0. I am feeling sick

Ya mine did too, I still can’t do anything in Itunes, but at least my phone is back working. The servers are swamped, it’s totally normal. just ride it out, your phone should re activate eventually

It is sad to know we still have all these problems to bear despite Apple going through all those testing and betas. Mine too is bricked. Jailbroken iPhone users stay away for now.

I purchased the app Camera Zoom for my iphone but when I click on the icon it says “camera” would like to access current location and then the screen goes black. There is also a function to “don’t allow” and “ok” but pressing these do nothing. I tried deleting the app and then adding it again but the icon does the same thing. I can not find a screen to adjust the settings for the camera. How do I get the Camera Zoom to work?

Many applications are simply crashing after opening up or some doesn’t open up at all. I am sure most of these are due to incompatibility with OS 3.0. We can’t be sure if the developer does not confirm this. Yeah! I had camera zoom too, but I deleted it because it was not working after the upgrade.

I get the error message saying my network connection has timed out…I’ve tried many, many times with the same result. The most that was downloaded before timing out was 19MB. I’ve read that many people are having the same problem. Anyone know how to fix this problem???

I paid the $9.95 and downloaded the 3.0 software for my iPod touch. It downloaded OK, but right at the end of installation, I get an undetermined error 2. It leaves me with empty touch except for a picture of a USB cable trying to connect to iTunes. I click restore, and got the same error. My iPod touch was ruined for the moment. I ended up creating a new user on my computer and was able to restore the 2.1 software. Whew! So I tried to install the 3.0 again, same thing. Had to the repeat process. I am afraid to try it again.
