For two consecutive years, the launch of the iPhone had been so auspicious and hectic that people actually spend their nights out to be the first to grab the iPhone. Not sure, whether the name of the campers would go into history book of technology. Needless to say, I was one of the adventurous and crazy lot for the past two years. 

I’ve heard that this year too, Apple fans are all set to continue the tradition of camping out for the iPhone 3G S. The number may be lesser though, as Apple now has this online booking system in place, which makes camping out illogical if you are not really addicted to the idea of sleeping under a starry sky dreaming of the Apple device. 

Apple has announced what time people around the world would be able to get the iPhone 3G S on June 19, 2009. According to the announcement, Apple retail stores across the world would be open by 8 a.m. in their respective time zones on June 19 to accommodate the possible rush for the iPhone 3G S. 

In the US, people who pre-orders for the device on AT&T would be able to get the iPhone 3G S one hour ahead of other customers. AT&T outlets open at 7 a.m. to serve customers who pre-orders. 

If you don’t want to be sweating and fretting in a long queue, you may as well pre-order it or be early on that lucky Friday.
