Number Bonds iPhone app to make your child learn basic addition
If you are looking for fun ways to teach your child the basics of Math (addition to be precise), I have stumbled on something that you might want to try. Number Bonds from Feetup can let children learn Math in fun way.
Number Bonds is designed for children between 3-6 years, so says the developer. The concept is simple and does not go beyond the number 10 either dealing with digits or objects and animals. Open the application, select either Image, Number or Sum to start the fun way.
The whole thing is about adding up images or numbers to make up the number 10. First, hit the single touch button on the left bottom of the screen to select a random digit and then ask your child what number has to be added to make it 10? Ask him/her to actually select it. The same applies for adding up objects or animals. Just scroll up or down to select the right number or image combination.
For every correct answer, the emoticon on the right hand side changes to a smiley with an audio feed “cool.” For wrong answers, there is an “Oops” sound with a matching emoticon display.
I am not sure how fast a child of 3 to 6 years can catch up with the fun that this app claims to offer. The graphics and audio content are simple and engaging though, which has the potential to attract children.
There are 27 image packs to keep children glued to the iPhone and to learn at the same time. I need to test the effectiveness of this app on my niece.
Image, Number and Sum are the different levels this app offers. The Image levels is all about images, the number level offers a display of the selected digit along with the images and the sum levels has only digits. You have to select the appropriate level depending on the understanding of the child.
If your child do like this application, he/she would consider this more as a game than learning. Hmm, that’s the best way to make children learn. If your child is of those genius type, the mere number 10 might not be fun enough to engage for long on a serious note.

Good one
This game sounds pretty good…but where is Little Cook? That is my kids favorite iPhone/iPod Touch game and it’s not on this site!! I have bought more than a couple of the games I have seen reviewed here but my little girl keeps going back to Little Cook. I would love to see it get a place on your site because unlike SOME of the game I see here, she is actually learning applicable knowledge from LC. Anyway, thanks for this review, I will check this out at the app store.
