Best Buy recently made the best mistake in years to tease Palm Pre fans. The retailer made a very brief announcement on their site that the Pre would be available just for $99 on a two year contract. Hmm $100 less than the usual selling price; something unusual for a device that is launched just a month ago. 

There are photos to prove that this ain’t a joke. Best Buy intentionally did what they did to make Palm Pre fans desperate to grab the device, through the bogus $99 offer. Or did anyone actually manage to purchase one paying only $99? If so this is one sure indication that the Pre price would be revised soon. Waiting for some more time could be a good strategy to get it cheaper.

Hey, Best Buy’s Marketing Manager John Bernier later tweeted that the pricing was an error. What kind of error was that? Make sure you are well informed when this kind of mistake happens in the future.
