Blob Dash: iPhone 3D puzzle game review
I have mixed feelings about Blob Dash. I guess that in the end it boils down to whether the money is worth it. But I’m sure that as with every other application, it will have its own takers. Now let’s see why you in question should take it or not.
The storyline is what I would call cute, but I’m not sure about engaging. The galaxy of Obozz has been attacked by the evil Lord Gaggletron, and he controls the residents with his mind control crystals. The Obo race of blobs has been transformed into mindless monsters who are at his mercy. The mission at hand is to help the Obos defeat the crystals with the use of blocks, bombs, traps and one passes.
There are 24 stages, and obviously you have to clear each field before you progress to the next. A little badge proclaims your victory. The basic task is to clear the paths of the white blobs and lead them towards the white crystal at the opposite end of the map.
Trap doors and other tools come into play as the game gets tougher. The 3D environment is a big plus for the game. Remember that Lord Gaggletron has transformed some of the peaceful blobs into evil monsters, so you have to remove these blobs too.
The black blobs actually combine with the white blobs to become grey blobs which block the paths of the white blobs. I know that sounds confusing, but perhaps that adds to the game strategy.
Maybe the game would grow on me if I spend more time on it, but as first impressions go, I’m afraid it isn’t too impressive.
