Exciting castle defense game Battle Shock for iPhone and iPod touch users

You are a fledging wizard in this game, but beware, it is the game itself that is going to put you into its spell! Battle Shock entrusts you with the noble mission of defending your castle from meanie Hordes. Your mentor has had an untimely demise, and it is upon your shoulders to defend the helpless villagers from the evil marauders. The joy of hearing their screams when they are hurt is pure music to the ears. 

You start by hitting them with Plasma Balls, but as you gather more coins, you can use them to buy archers and more spells. You have the option of choosing where to place your archers on the wall. The more expert the archer, the more coins they cost; a marriage of magic and economy here. You can also repair your castle by using the coins to buy bricks. Use your coins wisely; after all, a battle is not just about brawns but brains too.

The layout of the game displays a castle wall at the bottom of the screen. There are several trees and bushes in front, which prove to be obstacles when shooting at the enemy. You progress to another wave or level as you beat back each attack. The game features 100 levels with 10 different types of enemies, so whoa, hold back the premature victory celebrations! 

The spells are quite a novelty in themselves. As the name suggests, the Shockwave Attack lets you send a deadly wave which you trigger by placing your finger anywhere on the screen. The Last Resort is almost like a suicidal mission, but fortunately without all the bloodshed. You can employ this when you are almost on the verge of giving up, but want to go out with a bang. They talk about killing two birds with one stone, but in this case, you can kill the enemy with two fingers; simply place them on your castle to electrify it. The suicidal bit comes in because your castle is also damaged in the process. A ‘geronimo’ yell would fit in nicely during this action. 

The battle sounds add a nice touch to the gallant defender role of the innocent. You almost feel like puffing your chest out and standing on the castle walls with pride, but do that after you have staved off the enemy. It will be a battle hard won but well, and a fitting tribute to your mentor. Hail you!
