bluetooth-wi-fiApple has just posted a knowledge base article that outlines what you should do if you are having Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problem on your iPhone/iPod touch.

1. Reset network Settings: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

2. Erasing content and settings: Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

3. Restore Device: This would also erase all data on the device. After restoring, check whether the device displays the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth address.

After completing any of the above steps, go to Settings> General> About> scroll down and check for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth address. If there is an address, the problem has been resolved. However, if you are unable to find the address, proceed to step four.

have new iphone 3gs and a itouch gen2. WiFi appears to work well and i haven’t experienced any of the dropouts or connectivity issues. I have upgraded my gen 2 .

The main problem for me is that both devices do not work with bluetooth as a complete package. The iphone will not sync with my cars bluetooth handsfree. It does not see the device. It will sync with my bluetooth stereo headset and can be used for calls effectively. Try and select it for the ipod function and its does not come up as an option. This is contrary to th user guide. A total baffle and inconsistent implementaion not worthy of this current ages tech level.
The gen 2 touch behaves in the same manner.
I am totally disappointed. So many great attributes and yet the most handy and functional just don’t work. Note I have all the entries in the Settings/general/about for both wifi and Bluetooth.
So I have all my settings, wifi works but bluetooth is so so not working. Where to from here?

i m facing problem. in iphone 3g and its of bluetooth. my wifi works fine but my bluetooth doesnt turns on. i tired everything to fix it but still m facing the same problem. is it the hardware problem or the software.
the bluetooth keeps searching and searching and at the end it goes off.

I have this problem currently too. I am going to try this and see how we go. I hope everything goes fine. If not, I’ll be calling Apple in the morning because I have Apple Care.
