It’s one crazy ride with Car Mania on the iPhone
I was playing Railroad Madness hardly a week back, and I complained about the controls. And then I come across Car Mania, and I feel like someone has heard my ranting. All you have to do is use the tip of your finger to draw a path for the car to reach its destination. So much simpler than going tap, tap and tap!
We all know what it’s like to be stuck in traffic; horns blaring, drivers cursing, and just general confusion everywhere. Car Mania lands us in right in the middle of such a situation, but thankfully we are in control. Steer the colored cars to their respective garages, and it will be one clean road and bunch of happy drivers.
Of course, there is no avoiding road rage. The meter goes up when cars pile up, construction work blocks the road, or cars crash into each other. Be careful that the road rage meter does not reach its limit, or you are out of the game.
Car Mania tests your traffic skills with three game modes; Survival, Road Rage and Time Attack. In Survival, it’s about how many cars you can direct to their destinations before the road rage meter shows 100%. There is no time limit, so you can play as long as the meter doesn’t run out on you.
In Time Attack, you have four minutes to get as many cars as you can to their garages before the inevitable road rage meter crashes. Road Rage is a different ball game. Here you have get the cars crashing into each other to get points. Time Attack and Road Rage modes are unlocked only if you can survive the Survival Mode.
New York, Freeway and Central are the three levels of game play. New York has two garages and four entry points for the cars. Freeway has six lanes of traffic, and Central has four garages and even a train that randomly comes running through the middle, although with a warning.
If you liked playing Flight Control and Taxi Driver, then Car Mania should be on your games-I-like-list. See how many points you can notch up, and also how many happy drivers you can make. A smiley at the top left of the screen displays the number of happy drivers. Now that’s a rare sight in traffic!
