lingopal Are you a polyglot? I am not one in the least, but I enjoy listening to people speak in different languages and have fun trying to make out the meaning. That’s kinda instinctual translation of languages. While on that guessing game, I get 99% wrong.

I now have LingoPal-Fun Multilingual Phrasebook on my iPhone and the possibility of getting better score is much higher. The application contains translation of common phrases for 42 languages from around the world. The best deal is that you can listen to the authentic recorded voice of the phrase in whatever language you choose.

Well, it seems I am confusing you more than making things more simple. Select your primary language, and select another language that you want the phrases in your language be translated. In my case, I selected English as my primary language and selected Japanese as the language.

I don’t know Kanji script nor the language, but it is simply fun glaring at the script and listening to the music of the language. The application has a neat division of sections that contain phrases for different occasions, such as business, party, flirting, traveling, numbers, directions, shopping, etc.

As I hardly make oversea trips, for me the flirting sections comes as the most handy one. I can at least learn the lines and surprise my friends.

Lingopal- Fun Multilingual Phrasebook could be more useful to travelers and businessmen than a homer like me. Inclusion of the audio recorded version of the phrases is the killer feature of this application. I consider displaying of the translation in the original script of the particular language as something odd. What can I possibly learn by glaring at Russian or Chinese scripts.

The application is going to eat up 192 MB space on your iPhone, if you do not love the music of languages, you should also restrain from spending $4.99. For language enthusiasts, the application of course is a steal.
